Everyone who walks past asks about the colour, which is the point of buying a themed case. Ten months in it has not faded under a window and the panels still align. Wish it came with even one fan for the money

Bought it as a display piece for a small studio and it has done that job for well over a year without looking tired. The finish has held up, the glass has no scratches, and the hinge on the cable side still shuts with the same click. The only thing that has gone backwards is the front IO cover, which no longer stays closed. Four stars because the drive support is almost non-existent, two 2.5 inch trays and that is it.

A themed case has to survive the theme wearing off, and this one is halfway there. Structurally it is the same Y70 everybody likes: the two chambers, the deep routing channel, the panels that come away without tools. All of that still works and I would not want to go back to a single chamber design. Where it falls down is heat, and specifically the vertical card. Mounted the way the case is designed to show it off, my card sits about eight degrees warmer than lying flat, because the glass is close enough to starve the fans. Turn it back and the point of the case is gone. Fourteen months in, three stars: lovely object, compromised cooling, and no fans included to soften the blow.

The maroon is much deeper in person than on screen, closer to oxblood than red, and it works with brass fittings better than I had any right to expect. Dual chamber means the whole right side is a cable garage, so the show side is board, card and nothing else. The vertical mount comes in the box with a riser, which on most cases is a paid extra. Panels are all captive screws. Dropped a star only because the artwork is confined to the front strip and the rest is plain, which for the money feels a bit thin.

Giving three stars but the positives are real, so they are worth stating plainly. The chassis is superbly engineered. Two chambers, a routing channel deep enough to swallow a full sleeved set, captive thumbscrews on everything, and glass that fits without a gap anywhere along the edge. It is quieter than a mesh case because the intake is baffled. That quietness is also why it is three stars rather than five, and the fact you supply every fan yourself, but the engineering deserves the credit!

Five stars from me but here is the list of things I wish someone had written down before I ordered. It needs a lot of fans and it comes with none, so add that to your budget mentally before you decide it is affordable. Three up front, three in the roof for a 360, one at the back is what mine ended up with. The PSU goes in sideways in the second chamber and the cables come through a slot with a fixed width, so if you have a fat sleeved 24-pin extension expect to fight it. And the maroon panels show dust in a way black ones do not. A microfibre cloth now lives on the desk.
