Used for: More than a year

    Comment

Longest serving part in my machine now, and it has been through two graphics cards without complaint. The first was a 3090 that spiked hard enough to reset a lesser supply; this one never noticed. Two years in and the only thing that has changed is what is plugged into it. What I would change is the connector count. Titanium, 1600 watts, and only four PCIe leads in the box means a proper multi card setup needs daisy chaining, which defeats the point. The 12V-2x6 lead is short too, barely reaching a card mounted vertically. Everything electrical about it is superb, the accessory kit is where the corners got cut.

Used for: Less than a month

    Pros

Ate 5090 transients my old unit tripped on

    Cons

The 24 pin lead is stiff enough to fight

    Comment

Dropped into a fresh build with a 5090 and it took the transient spikes without so much as a flicker. My old 1000W GOLD unit used to trip on shader compilation. Cables are all individually sleeved and feel expensive, which at this money they should!

    Used for: 3–6 months

    Cons

Coil whine that changes pitch with frame rate

    Comment

Coil whine. Not a faint tick in a silent room, a clear electrical squeal that changes pitch with frame rate and comes straight through a closed side panel. At 60fps capped it is a steady buzz, uncapped on a menu screen it turns into a whistle you can hear from the sofa across the room. Everything else is fine. Voltages hold steady, the fan is inaudible, the OLED readout is a nice toy. But nobody pays flagship money for a TITANIUM unit and then accepts a machine that sings at them all evening. The entire point of buying at this level is that you stop hearing the thing.

    Used for: 6–12 months

    Pros

OLED wattage readout is genuinely useful

    Cons

Enormous, and the cables are stiff as rope

    Comment

The little OLED on the side is the reason I stopped bothering with a plug in meter. It reads what the machine is pulling in real time, and a 9800X3D with a 5090 sits around 620W in a heavy raster load, spiking to a bit over 900 in bursts. Titanium rating means the wall figure is barely higher than that. Fan has never audibly spun up, and that is most of a year of evening use now.

    Used for: 6–12 months

    Cons

Comes with more cables than anyone needs

    Comment

Faultless unit. Only grumble is the cable bag being bigger than some cases

  • MCMillie C.5 July 2026

    Used for: 1–3 months

    Pros

Titanium efficiency without any fan noise

    Cons

Takes up most of the PSU shroud

    Comment

Silent, and the OLED tells me the 5080 rig idles at 90W

  • HMHarry M.1 July 2026

    Used for: 6–12 months

    Pros

Huge headroom and the fan almost never turns

    Comment

Went 1600W because the plan is two cards eventually and I would rather buy once. For now it feeds a single 4090 and a 14900K, which the readout says peaks at 780W under a stress test, so there is a lot in reserve. The fan does not turn below about half load, and I have only heard it once in nine months, on a hot afternoon with the room at 28 degrees. Dropping a star because the unit is 190mm long and my cable basement is now completely full.

  • HRHarry R.22 June 2026

Used for: More than a year

    Pros

Live wattage readout makes undervolting easy

    Cons

Aura software is more faff than it is worth

    Comment

Second Thor in this house and the reason is simple: the readout. Being able to glance at actual draw while tuning an undervolt saved me buying a meter. A 7900 XTX build settled at 480W after tuning, down from 560. Still on the original cables, still no whine, fan still silent.
