This is a surveillance drive and it is very good at being a surveillance drive, which is worth saying because a lot of people buy them as cheap bulk storage and then complain. Sixteen cameras writing to it continuously, day in day out, and it has not dropped a frame or logged an error. That is exactly what it is built for and it does it without fuss. Where it earns three stars from me is everything else. It is loud, properly loud, the kind of drive that belongs in a cupboard or a rack and not under a desk. It runs hot, 49 degrees in a cabinet with a fan on it. And for general file serving a NAS drive costs less and does the same job. Buy it for cameras or do not buy it.
