Two of these went into a classroom set at the start of term and they have been treated exactly as you would expect. Four months in, one has a scuffed corner and that is the sum of the damage. Dropped off desks, stood on, carried by the keyboard, and the tablets inside are unmarked. Keys wipe clean with a baby wipe, which matters more than any spec. The trade is weight and thickness. In a bag of exercise books it is noticeable, and no child has ever said it looks good. Neither of those is why you buy it.

Bought for a nine-year-old who has already destroyed one tablet, and this is the first case that has made me relax about it. The whole thing is wrapped, corners included, and the keyboard is sealed so a spilt drink runs off rather than in. It is a brick, but that is the point!

The case is as tough as claimed. The keyboard is not. Three of the keys on the bottom row now need a deliberate press to register, and the space bar only works if you hit the middle of it. Everything protective about it is faultless and the tablet inside has never been at risk. But a keyboard case whose keyboard has gone unreliable in under half a year is two stars, however good the plastic is.

The protection is not in question, but nobody warns you about the size. It no longer fits the pocket in the school bag it was bought for, and the extra width means it will not sit on a small desk beside a book.
