Bought as the cheapest way to get a nephew gaming on a hand-me-down office PC and it did exactly that with the original 450W supply still in place. At 1080p on medium to high it holds above 60fps in most of what he plays, and Fortnite runs well over a hundred. Try to stretch it to 1440p and it falls apart, partly the chip and partly the 8GB of GDDR6. The card itself never gets warm, sitting in the mid fifties with the fans barely turning. Five months of him using it and nothing has gone wrong. Four stars as a budget card, and no stars at all as a 1440p one.

Picked this over a used card from the previous generation and I am glad I did, because the warranty and the driver support are worth something. At 1080p it plays everything I own at settings I am happy with, and it does so at around 55C with fans I cannot hear from a metre away. It draws so little that the old power supply in this machine did not need replacing, which saved the best part of a hundred pounds and made the whole upgrade viable. It is not fast, but it is honest about what it is.

Sits in a machine that gets used every day for work with a bit of gaming in the evenings, and it has not put a foot wrong. Idle temperature is 32C with the fans stopped, and even a long session only takes it to about 58C. Drivers have installed cleanly every month. Most of a year of that and it has never needed a second look. Four stars because the performance is modest, which is not a surprise at this price.

Expected more of a jump. Against a 3050 it is maybe a quarter quicker in the games I play, which is not nothing but is not what I had in mind either. The GDDR6 buffer is the same size and the same headache. It is cool, it is quiet, and it does not need a new PSU, all of which are real. Three stars because the value is only there if you are coming from something genuinely ancient.

Went into an ITX build with a 500W SFX unit and there was no drama at all, single connector and done. It is quiet enough that the case fans are louder. Where it shows its price is memory bandwidth, and once a game wants more than 8GB the frame times go choppy in a way that turning down a shadow setting will not fix. Three weeks in and that is the only lesson I have had to learn. Turn textures down first!

The thing I appreciate most is how little I notice it. Fans do not spin at the desktop at all, and even under load they stay below a thousand rpm on the ASUS quiet profile. Not a trace of whine at any frame rate, which I have not been able to say about the last two cards I owned. Ten months in and I still do not notice it. For a small quiet build it is excellent value!
