The only maintenance so far has been a wipe of the screen, and that is nine months of daily work. It does everything the much more expensive configuration would do for what I actually work on, which is a lot of documents and a little video

As a machine it has been exactly what was wanted, and the one mark off is for the display, oddly. It is bright and sharp and the colour is superb, and the gloss means a lit room behind me is always slightly visible in the dark parts of the picture. The notch bothered me at first and now I never see it. The battery has been the real story, since a 10 hour day of documents no longer needs a socket anywhere near it.

Switched over from Windows for the battery and the silence, and got both, but the software side has been more work than anyone admits. Two things I depend on daily have no proper version here and the workarounds are clumsy enough that I keep a Windows machine on the desk for them. As hardware it is faultless. Beautiful screen, never a sound, never warm, and the battery does what it claims. Three stars is about the move rather than the machine, and anyone whose tools all run here should ignore this entirely!
