Went into our solicitors' office to replace a machine that had become a standing joke, and the difference is felt every single day. It wakes from sleep in a few seconds rather than a minute, so nobody stands over it waiting for a fuser any more, and the first page has usually landed before you have finished walking to it. The feeder is the part that has won people over. It takes a thick stack of double-sided originals, scans both sides in one pass, and drops the lot into a folder on the network without anybody going near a computer!

Prints well and holds a lot of paper. Where it falls down is the software side. The driver on the Macs never quite matches the one on the Windows machines, so the finishing options differ depending on who is printing, and eight months in nobody here has managed to make the two agree.

Mono only, which is exactly what we wanted. Nobody in this office needs to print in colour and the temptation to do it was costing us a fortune on the last machine. Text comes out properly black and small point sizes stay legible, which matters a great deal on the forms we produce. It is quiet for a machine this size, and it holds enough paper that filling it is a weekly job rather than a daily one.

Steady use in a busy practice for nine months and the only thing anybody has had to do is put paper in it and change the toner once. No jams, no streaks, no fuss at all. Scan quality off the glass is good enough that a signed form comes back looking like a signed form

Print room machine for a school office, and it took the September rush without a murmur. Reports, letters home, exam papers by the box. It gets through a long run at a steady pace and the pages come out cool and flat rather than curled and warm, which the last one never managed. The duplex has not jammed once, and the machine it replaced could not go a week without doing it!
