It has become the thing everything else plugs into. Two synths on the DIN sockets, a Eurorack case on the CV outs, the laptop over USB, and one place to start and stop the lot. Nearly two years in and the encoders have not developed a single dead spot, which I cannot say for the last controller I used this hard. The screens above them still show what each one is doing, which sounds minor until you come back to a session after a month away and can read the desk instead of guessing. If you only ever work inside a DAW it is far more machine than you need

Bought it to sit between a Moog and a drum machine, and the CV outputs plus two sets of DIN sockets do exactly that. The sequencer is genuinely usable standalone, which almost nothing else this size manages. Working out how the pages nest took a weekend and a lot of the PDF though.

Mixing with 8 real faders instead of dragging a mouse has made rough mixes twice as fast, and the encoders send fine enough steps that automation comes out smooth.

Set it up beside an Ableton session on the Friday evening and by Sunday the whole rig was running from one place. Transport, mixer, plugin racks, all mapped without me writing a single script. The pads take a firm hand, which took getting used to after a soft-triggered grid, but the velocity is consistent across all 16 and the curve can be changed if you want it lighter. That last part is not obvious in the manual and took a forum post to find!

Came from a controller with eight unlabelled knobs and a lot of guessing. Here every encoder has its own little colour screen above it saying what it is mapped to, and after a week I stopped opening the mapping window at all. Worth knowing that on bus power the display dims and the pads lose their colour, so the supply comes out of the box and stays plugged in. Not a fault, just not what the pictures imply!

One star because the thing I bought it for does not survive being switched off. Templates for my two synths load fine, get edited, get saved, and then come back the next morning with the CV assignments scrambled. The firmware is current. Nine months of this and I have gone back to sequencing in the DAW.
