Kept the physical SIM slot, which is the only reason this version got the order over the eSIM one. My provider still makes a meal of transferring a number and I did not fancy an evening on the phone to them. Everything else is the phone everyone has already described, though nobody warned me how slippery it is without a case!

Two terabytes disappears faster than you would believe
Six months in and the thing that still surprises me is the battery. Out of the house at seven, a train each way, maps on for an hour at the other end, and it comes home with a third left. My last phone would have been begging for a plug by lunch. The silver finish is the other quiet win. It does not show the grease the darker ones do, and the frame has kept its shine where my old one had gone dull at the corners. One warning: two terabytes sounds like a joke until you shoot video, and then it does not. Mine is a third full already and I have not been trying.

The screen itself is superb
Far too big and too sharp-edged for one hand
Cannot get on with it at all. The size means one-handed use is over, the corners dig into my palm, and every photo I take is now a two-handed operation. Lovely screen on a phone I do not want to pick up.

Camera and screen are both a step up
Still gets hot on the windscreen with the sat nav on
Middling three stars because the phone is fine and the price is not. Coming from a four year old handset the gains are real but small: the camera in a dark room is better, the screen outside is brighter, and it charges quicker. What has not changed is how warm it gets in a car cradle with the sat nav running, which is exactly the complaint I had about the last one.
