Daylight photos are lovely and it lasted the day
Ordered for the wife's birthday and she has taken to it quicker than I expected, given she had the same handset since before the twins were born. The camera is the bit that gets used most. Photos in the garden are lovely, the ones in the pub on Saturday were dark and grainy, which is the one thing I would warn about. Battery has been fine so far, off the charger at seven and still going strong at bedtime, though we have not had a heavy day out with it yet.

Has held together better than I feared
Hinge has not developed a wobble and the inner screen has no dead spots, which was my worry
Used for: More than a year
Would buy it again tomorrow, and I say that as a lifelong iPhone person

Opens flat, sits in a jacket pocket, and nothing else I looked at does both!
Used for: 6–12 months
The screen is lovely and it stays cool
Three stars is harsh for what is a clever bit of kit, but I cannot get past the weight. In a coat it is fine; in a shirt pocket or in a small hand it is a brick, and my partner will not carry it at all. Everything else is as advertised. The screen is lovely and it has never once got hot on me.
Used for: 1–3 months
Readable outdoors even at midday
Two of every app out of the box
Came from an iPhone after nine years of them, which I mention because the switch was the thing I dreaded and it took an afternoon with a cable and a cup of tea. The screen in the sun is better than I expected from the reviews. Walking the dog at midday with the brightness left on automatic I could read messages without cupping a hand over it, which the phone before could not manage. The only thing I would change is the bloat. There are two of everything on here, two browsers, two app stores, two assistants!

Mail and calendar side by side all day
The side reader is a reach with the phone open
Bought it as a work phone and the split-screen mail and calendar setup has stuck. My one grumble is that the fingerprint reader on the edge is a stretch when the phone is open, so I end up using the face unlock instead, though that at least works in the dark.
Used for: 3–6 months
Dust gathers along the crease
No complaints about the phone itself, but be warned that the crease collects dust and a fingernail will not get it out, so I have taken to running a soft cloth down it now and then.
Used for: 6–12 months
The thing I did not appreciate until I lived with one is how much the fold changes what you do on a phone rather than just how it looks. Long emails get written properly instead of put off until I am at a desk. Train timetables and a map sit side by side. A PDF from work is readable without the pinch-and-drag dance. Seven months in the only wear is a scuff on the frame from a set of keys, and the battery still gets me from the school run to the news at ten with a charge to spare. Whether that is worth the money is a separate question, but I have not once regretted it.
