Coming from a dual socket board this feels like a luxury by comparison. Eight sticks of RDIMM trained on the first boot, no manual timings, no failed posts, and the machine has been up continuously since it was commissioned four months ago apart from one firmware update. One design grumble. The four status LEDs sit right beside the top PCIe slot, so with a full height card fitted you cannot see them at all. On a board that expects four cards, putting the diagnostics where a card will always cover them seems an odd choice.

Went in without drama. Eight DIMM slots populated with registered memory, both 10G ports live immediately, and the BIOS found the Xeon without needing an update, though I flashed the newest one anyway. Quiet under load too.

Bought for local model training and on the hardware side it delivers exactly what was promised. Four cards at full width, 512GB of registered DDR5 across eight channels, and the board has never once dropped a GPU off the bus during a long run. Ten months in and that is still true. The utility software that gives the board its name is another matter. It wants an account, the interface is clumsy, and I ended up using standard tooling instead. The hardware deserves better software, so four stars rather than five.

Chose this over the ASUS mainly for the cooling arrangement, and that has been the right call. With four cards drawing everything they can, the VRM heatsinks sit in the low fifties and the chipset never goes above sixty, which on a board driving this much silicon is impressive. The heat pipe between the two sections is not just for show. Five months of near constant load and those numbers have not crept up. Where it loses a star is the BIOS, which is clearly a desktop AORUS layout stretched over a workstation platform, and some of the labels do not make sense for the hardware underneath.

Rear panel has Thunderbolt, two 10G ports and enough USB that the hub went in a drawer. For a workstation board that usually skimps on connectivity it is a refreshing change, and everything worked without hunting for drivers, though the manual is thin on which port is which.
