Works beautifully once you have the right modules, but working out which ECC kits the board actually supports took longer than the build itself.

Quietly excellent workstation board, never had a correctable error turn into a crash, though I check the log more often than I need to.

The reason to buy a W880 board rather than a Z890 is ECC, and this one takes unbuffered ECC modules without any fuss at all. Four sticks recognised, error reporting live in the operating system, which is what I wanted for a machine that runs long jobs unattended. Two 10G ports on top of that, and a VRM that stays in the forties with a 285K flat out. Boring in the best possible way, and two months in I have nothing to add
