    Used for: 6–12 months

    Comment

Feeds a 4080 Super and a 7950X3D with about 800W spare, which sounds wasteful until the machine is compiling and gaming at once and nothing so much as flickers. Fan has never been on!

Used for: Less than a month

    Pros

Eight PCIe sockets and a native 12V-2x6

    Cons

Cheap drawstring cable bag for the money

    Comment

Put this at the bottom of a new workstation build and it has been the least interesting part of the machine, which is what I paid for. The case for the WS line over a gaming unit is the connector count and the layout. Eight PCIe sockets across the back, all labelled, no shared rails to think about, and a 12V-2x6 that is native rather than an adapter. I have two cards and a card reader hanging off it and there are still spare sockets. On noise: the fan is genuinely off at idle. I put my hand behind the case to check because I did not believe the machine was on. It comes in somewhere around half load and even then it is soft. Only thing I would change is the cable bag. It is a cheap drawstring thing for a supply at this price. Two weeks of use and that is still the only complaint.

    Pros

94% at the wall on a plug meter, better than the sticker

    Comment

First thing I did was check it against a plug meter, because the whole reason for buying PLATINUM rather than GOLD is what the socket sees. Machine reporting 480W internally showed 512W at the wall, so a shade under 94%, which is better than the sticker promises at that load. Build went in without a fight. It is 150mm long, so it fits anything, and there are enough PCIe leads for a card that wants three plus a spare

  • OHOscar H.10 July 2026

Used for: More than a year

    Pros

No coil whine and no rail drift at any load

    Cons

Fan keeps running long after the load has gone

    Comment

Bought it as the boring choice for a machine that has to be up at seven every morning, and on that count it has been perfect. No coil whine at any load, no relay click, no drift on the rails. The reason for four rather than five is the fan curve. Once it starts, it does not stop for a good while after the load has gone, so a short render leaves the machine breathing for two or three minutes afterwards.

    Used for: 3–6 months

    Pros

No lighting, no software, just power

    Cons

Fan does run under a real workstation load

    Comment

Chose the workstation line over the ROG one because I did not want lighting or an OLED, just a supply that gets on with it, and that is exactly what this is. It runs a dual card CAD box, one RTX card and one older Quadro, both fed from separate PCIe leads with no splitting. The socket meter shows about 740W with both busy. The fan does turn at that load but it is a broad, low sound rather than a fan whine, and it drops back within a minute of the job finishing. Four months of daily CAD work and that has not changed.

Used for: Less than a month

    Pros

Stopped the reboots my old GOLD unit caused

    Cons

    Plain black cables, no sleeving

    Comment

Swapped in from a 750W GOLD that was starting to make the machine reboot under a 4090. Problem gone on the first evening! What surprised me is how much cooler the case runs now, presumably because the supply is throwing away far less as heat at the same output. A fortnight in and not a single reboot since.

  • JRJack R.16 June 2026

    Used for: 6–12 months

    Cons

Stiff unsleeved cables and a 12V-2x6 lead that only just reaches

    Comment

Two complaints, both about the cables rather than the supply. First, they are stiff. Properly stiff, the sort that holds whatever shape it was folded into in the box, and getting the 24 pin to turn ninety degrees behind the motherboard tray took more force than I was comfortable applying. There is no sleeving to speak of either, just plain black, which is fine for a workstation but does not match the price. Second, the 12V-2x6 lead is 600mm and that is not enough for a bottom mounted supply feeding a card at the top of a full tower. Mine reaches, but under tension, which is the exact thing everyone tells you to avoid with that connector. Electrically I have nothing bad to say. Steady, cool, and the fan is quiet.
