No instability at all once the BIOS was updated, and plenty quick with it. Marked down only because it drinks power under load and the room notices. Excellent value against the equivalent Ryzen 9 though.

The 14700K has been fast and mostly well behaved, with one caveat that everyone buying 13th or 14th generation Intel should already know about, and that is eight months of daily use talking. The performance is not in doubt. Twenty cores, and the eight performance cores boost high enough that everything single threaded feels immediate. Long encodes finish quicker than on the twelve core AMD part I came from, and having the UHD graphics on board has saved me twice when I was testing without a card. The caveat is voltage. Make sure your board is on the current microcode before you do anything else, because the older firmware would push these chips harder than they should be pushed. Mine has been on the fixed version from the outset and has been completely stable, but it is not something to leave to chance. It also gets hot. Budget for a 360.
