A terabyte of Gen5 was the sensible middle ground, big enough for Windows and the handful of games I actually play, without paying for capacity that would sit empty. A year on, the drive still benchmarks within a whisker of where it started and the wear indicator reads two per cent. Boot is seven seconds. What I would say is that the real benefit shows up on large writes, and if all you do is game then a Gen4 drive at half the money would leave you none the wiser.
