Went into a small DVR to replace a desktop drive that had been struggling with continuous recording, and the difference in noise alone was worth it. The old drive would seek constantly and you could hear it through the wall. This one is a soft hum and nothing more. Recording four channels it stays at 34 degrees in a box with one small fan. The only real limitation is capacity, because at full resolution a terabyte gives about nine days of footage.
