Ordered this to replace a bag full of separate adapters: one for HDMI, one for VGA, a network dongle and a little USB splitter, each with its own pouch and its own way of going missing. All of it is now one object smaller than a phone. HDMI, DisplayPort, ethernet, USB-A, USB-C data and power in, and the cable folds into the body so there is nothing to tangle in a pocket. First week has covered a client office, a hotel desk and two meeting rooms. Every screen worked first time, the wired network in the hotel was quicker than their wifi by a mile, and the laptop charged through it the whole time. The only thing I would change is the cable length, which is right for a laptop on a table and short for a laptop on a stand!

Three stars is a compromise between a hub I like carrying and a fault I have got tired of. Physically it is spot on: tiny, tough, cable that stows itself, nothing that rattles. The wired network is the problem. Close the lid at one desk, open it at another, and the ethernet is showing as unplugged even though it is not. Pull the connector out and push it back and everything is fine. It happens perhaps every other time and it always happens when a call is about to start, which makes it hard to be relaxed about.

Standard issue for our field engineers and it has earned that. It goes in a pocket, it survives being sat on, and it has never needed a driver on any of the laptops we run. One caveat found the hard way: the video output depends heavily on what the laptop's port can do. On the newer machines it drives a 4K screen properly. On the older ones you get 4K at thirty frames and a desktop that feels like treacle. Ten months in, that is the only complaint on the list.
