Full marks for the picture and the tracking, with one small warning: the mount is deep, and on a thin monitor it wants to tip forward until you swing the counterweight out properly. Read the little card, not the box

The privacy position is my favourite detail: the whole head bows to the desk when you are done, so there is no plastic flap to snap off and no doubt about whether it is looking at you. Reassuring in a way a sticker never was!

Docked a star for the cable. Mine goes to a tower on the floor and the supplied lead does not get there, so there is now an extension hanging down the desk leg. Everything else is excellent, particularly how it copes with the window behind me in the mornings without turning me into a silhouette. Three months of daily calls and the tracking has not once lost me.

Autofocus was the thing that made me replace the last one, which hunted every single time I leaned towards the screen. This does not. Nine months of daily stand-ups and it has stayed sharp on my face whether I am back in the chair or right up at the keyboard. The desktop app is a lump, but you only need it once.

Bought this to stream rather than to sit in meetings, and on that front the 4K crop gives me a clean 1080p output with room to reframe. Tracking is smooth enough to leave on for a whole broadcast. The built-in mic is fine for a quick chat and nowhere near good enough to stream with, which I expected. The graphite finish shows fingerprints the moment you adjust it, though that is hardly a scandal.

The gimbal tracking is the whole point and it does follow me when I get up to the whiteboard, which no software crop has ever managed. Gesture control is a gimmick I have used exactly once. Marked down one star because the desk mode needs the vendor app running, and that app wants an account.
