  • LSLouie S.1 September 2026

    Used for: 3–6 months

    Pros

Recording every service to a laptop with no extra hardware in the path

    Comment

Multitrack straight off the desk into Reaper over the network, and the recordings are cleaner than anything the old card managed

  • AWAmelia W.22 August 2026

    Used for: 3–6 months

    Pros

Thirty two channels of multitrack down one cable, for less than a snake

    Cons

Latency setting has to be raised for a long run and nobody documents it well

    Comment

Church install, console at the front, recording rig in the office upstairs, and this card removed a fifty metre loom that had been a nightmare since the building was rewired. One Cat5 does the lot. The only tuning needed was pushing the Dante latency from a quarter of a millisecond to one, because the run passes through two switches. No dropouts since!

  • ILIvy L.18 August 2026

    Used for: 6–12 months

    Pros

One cable replaced a loom that took two people to coil

    Cons

It only makes sense if the rest of the rig speaks Dante too

    Comment

Two consoles, a recording rig and a broadcast feed, all on the same network, all fed from a card that costs less than the analogue splitter it replaced. That is the whole pitch and it delivers it. Routing changes that used to mean climbing behind a rack now happen on a laptop from the seat, and the monitor engineer can take a copy of everything without a single extra cable being run. Adding the broadcast feed took about a minute. Ten months of weekly use, no dropouts, no clock trouble, no firmware surprises. If your desk has the slot free, there is no argument against it!

  • AEAva E.11 August 2026

    Used for: 6–12 months

    Pros

Sixteen sends to the stage boxes with no analogue run at all

    Comment

Theatre work, and the pit is now connected to the desk by a single network cable that runs under a door rather than through it. Most of a year of shows and it has not missed a cue.

  • HPHarry P.26 July 2026

Used for: Less than a month

    Pros

Card in, screws done, firmware updated, working before the coffee went cold

    Cons

You still need a switch that understands what it is doing

    Comment

Swapped the USB card out of the console for this and the whole multitrack now travels down a single network lead to the laptop at the other end of the hall. Cleanest install we have ever done!

  • GPGeorge P.26 July 2026

Used for: Less than a month

    Pros

The audio itself is faultless once the network is right

    Cons

Half the setup happens in software that does not come in the box

    Comment

Fitting the card takes no time at all. Getting audio out of it took most of a Saturday, because the console firmware needed updating first, then the card firmware, then Dante Controller had to be told what to route where, and none of that sequence is in anything that came in the box. Works properly now, though. Marked down because at this money the documentation should not be a forum thread.

  • JNJack N.22 July 2026

Used for: Less than a month

    Pros

Channel count and cable count both go the right way

    Cons

Clocking arguments between the card and the desk cost me a rehearsal

    Comment

Bought for a mobile rig where the console lives at the side of the stage and the recording laptop lives at front of house. On paper this is exactly the right answer, and on the night it mostly is. The problem is clock. If the console and the Dante domain disagree about who is master, you get ticks on every channel and no obvious warning that anything is wrong. It took a wasted rehearsal and a long evening reading to work out that the sample rate had to be set in the console as well as in the software, and not just in the obvious place. Since then it has been quiet. Getting there was not.

  • WNWillow N.9 July 2026

Used for: Less than a month

    Pros

Fits the slot on the back of the console exactly

    Cons

    The manual is a leaflet

    Comment

Dropped in, updated, running. No drama at all

  • FSFreddie S.13 June 2026

    Used for: 3–6 months

    Cons

Dante Controller is a world of its own and nobody warns you

    Comment

The card is the easy part. The learning curve is entirely on the network side, where a cheap unmanaged switch will bite you and the clock settings matter more than anything printed on the box. Once it is right it simply works, but budget an evening.

  • AMAmelia M.8 June 2026

    Used for: 6–12 months

    Pros

When it works the channel count is extraordinary for the money

    Cons

A card this specialised should not ship with a leaflet for a manual

    Comment

Installed in a theatre desk to feed a recording rig and a hearing loop, and it does both. Getting it there was harder than it should have been. The card itself is well made and drops into the slot without a fight. What is missing is any instruction worth the name. Sample rate, clock master, latency, device naming, redundancy mode, all of it lives in a separate application that is not mentioned anywhere in the packaging, and the settings that matter are the ones a first time installer will not think to check. Nine months on it has been reliable, so the hardware is not the complaint. The complaint is that a competent engineer should not need a forum to commission a card.

Used for: More than a year

    Pros

Slots into the console and the console does the rest

    Comment

Two years in a touring rack and it has never dropped a channel
