Cable routing does not fight the arms of my glasses
Arrived on a Thursday and by Sunday I had gone through half a decade of albums looking for things I had missed. That is the effect these have. The fit is the practical news. The nozzle is a fair size and the marshmallow tips that come in the box are soft enough that an hour goes by without any awareness of them. I wear glasses and the over-ear cable routing does not clash with the arms, which has been an irritation with every other set I have owned. Early days, but nothing so far has made me think about the price!

An upper midrange lift that makes brass shouty
Still not certain about the tuning, which is why this is four stars rather than five. The upper midrange has a lift that flatters a lot of material and makes a few things shouty. Brass in particular gets a bit forward at volume, and there is no app or EQ to lean on because these are wired and passive. You are buying a voice, and it is a very good one, but it is a voice. Build, comfort and isolation are all beyond reproach, and three weeks in the shells have not picked up a single mark.

Everything my old hybrids did, minus the joins between the drivers

The presentation case is too nice to actually carry
A year in, still the pair I reach for, and still the case I never use
Used for: 1–3 months
Detail without any hardness in the treble
Takes a week to adjust if you are used to a warm set
Swapped from a warm, dark pair and the first hour was a shock. Everything is now where it should be and nothing is hiding!

Isolate well enough to replace a cancelling pair on the train
Bought for train work, where the point is not silence but the ability to ignore other people. These isolate passively well enough that I have stopped carrying the cancelling over-ears at all, and they weigh nothing in a jacket pocket. The hybrid arrangement does the thing hybrids are supposed to do and often do not: the handover between the dynamic driver and the BA armatures is invisible unless you go looking for it. Female vocals sit forward, strings have air above them, and the bass is present without turning everything into a nightclub. Nine months in and the cable is unmarked!

Connectors are still tight after a lot of plugging and unplugging
One earpiece each is not what they were designed for
My partner and I share these on flights, one earpiece each, which audiophiles will find appalling and works fine for a film. The connectors are still tight and neither of us has managed to lose a tip!

The shells look as good as the day they arrived
These have outlasted two phones and a laptop and are still the best sounding thing in the house. The finish on the shells has held up better than the cable, which is now the oldest looking part of the set. 18 months in and I have not once thought about upgrading.
Used for: 3–6 months
Perfectly good, and I cannot shake the sense that I paid a large premium for a shell finish and a leather box. The sound is very close to a set costing half as much.

They stay seated even on a run
The cable swings about unless you route it over the ear
Picked these over the Supermoon because I wanted the treble extension a balanced armature gives you and did not want to spend the extra thousand. On the evidence so far that looks like the right call for my library, which is mostly guitars and voices. The shells are chunkier than they look in photographs and my ears are on the small side, so the first evening was a lot of fiddling with all 6 sets of tips. Once seated they stay put on a run, which I did not expect from something this size. One mark off for the cable, which is gorgeous, heavy and swings about if you walk. Over-ear routing solves it. The zip case is beautiful and I will lose it, because it looks like something you would keep cufflinks in.
