Three stars is about the middle of what I think of it. The keyboard is good, the protection is good, and the battery in it has lasted longer than I expected. What wears thin is the single angle. Fifteen months of looking down at a screen on a desk has done my neck no favours, and there is no way to prop it higher. If you sit at a proper desk all day, look for something with a stand.

Makes long writing on a tablet possible
Top row sits awkwardly close to the screen
Six weeks of using this on the kitchen table for a course I am doing and it has changed how much I get done. Writing anything longer than a paragraph on glass was miserable; on this I can do an essay without thinking about it. The cover doubles as protection when it is shut, so the tablet goes into a bag with books and comes out clean. The only irritation is the keyboard row along the top, which is a shade too close to the screen edge.

Holds the whole edge of the tablet, not just corners
Too thick for the tablet slot in a rucksack
Good keyboard, sensible case, and the tablet is properly held rather than clipped at the corners. The reason it is four and not five is the shut height, which stopped it fitting the slot in my rucksack where the tablet used to live. I now carry it in the main compartment and it is fine.
Used for: 3–6 months
Gets used far more than expected
The hinge creaks a little when it opens
Bought on a whim and it has become the thing I use every evening!

Full-size keys with real travel, and a battery that never dies
This has quietly replaced a laptop for anything that is not a spreadsheet. The case first, because that is what you are buying. The tablet sits in a moulded tray that holds all four edges, the buttons work through it, and the camera sits proud of the surface so the glass never touches a table. Shut, it is a plain slab that has survived a bag full of paperwork without a scratch on the screen. The keyboard is the reason to choose it over a cover. Keys are full size, spaced like a laptop, and have enough travel that you can feel the bottom of the press rather than tapping a sheet of plastic. The top row does brightness, search and lock, which saves reaching up constantly. Battery is a cell that lasts years rather than a rechargeable, so it is never flat. Four months of daily use and I have not thought about it once!
Used for: 6–12 months
Quiet keys for an open plan office
No backlighting, so evening typing is guesswork
Ten months of carrying this between two offices and the case has taken every knock a laptop bag can hand out. Nothing has cracked, nothing rattles, and the tablet still comes out of the tray without a fight when I want it bare. The keyboard is quiet enough that nobody in an open plan office has ever looked up, which was more of a concern than I expected.

Feels dearer than it was
The cover attracts dust along the spine
Feels far more solid than the price suggested, and typing on it is quiet
