The boom arm folds up and mutes itself
The dongle is one more thing to lose
Bought for a contact centre desk where the boom arm matters more than the music. Callers on MS Teams never complain about the mic, and the ear cushions still have not gone shiny!
Used for: 3–6 months
Pass-through means you can answer the door mid-call
The clamshell case is bigger than the headphones deserve
Bought after a house move put my desk in the front room, which faces a road. The pass-through mode is the feature I did not expect to use and now use daily: press the left cup and you can talk to someone without taking the whole thing off your head. Comfort over glasses is the only reservation. The clamp was firm enough in the first fortnight that the arms of my frames pressed in, and I ended up leaving the headband stretched over a shoebox overnight. Five months in it sits properly and I forget I have them on until the battery warning. The case is a hard clamshell nearly 9cm thick. It does not go in a rucksack with a laptop unless you take the laptop out first, so mine lives under the desk and the headphones travel bare.

Mic quality is the whole reason to buy it
Cancelling only takes the edge off open-plan chatter
These went into a shared kit cupboard for a team of six and came back out as mine, because nobody else wanted the one with the boom arm sticking out. Their loss. On Teams the mic sounds like a landline in the best sense: flat, close, no room in it, and I have stopped getting asked to repeat myself on the weekly stand-up. Battery is the part I no longer think about. A full week of five-hour call days and it still shows about 30% left when I hang it on the hook Friday. Two years in and that has not visibly dropped. The ANC is fine rather than remarkable. It flattens the aircon and the hum of the floor, but a colleague laughing two desks away comes through clearly. For an office headset that is arguably correct.
Used for: 1–3 months
Light for something this size
You will not fit the case in a laptop bag
Forget it is on my head until the low battery chirp goes off
Used for: Less than a month
Range covers the whole flat
The busylight is bright enough to annoy the person opposite
Replaced a wired USB headset that tethered me to the desk. Walking to the kettle mid-call without dropping out is a small miracle!
Used for: Less than a month
Sounds better than an office headset needs to
Headband fabric looks like an early wear point
The fabric on the headband already looks like it will fluff, this early on, but everything else is exactly as advertised
Used for: 1–3 months
Multipoint between laptop and phone actually works
The phone link needs a nudge now and then
Our IT lead ordered three sets for the hybrid desks and I nabbed one for home. The multipoint is the reason it stays: laptop on the dock, phone in my pocket, and a mobile call interrupts the Teams audio and hands it back afterwards without any fiddling. It does drop the phone link occasionally if the laptop is doing something heavy, maybe once a week, and you notice because the ring comes out of the handset instead. Not enough to mark it down. Sound for music is warm and a bit thick, which the app can sort in about a minute!
