Ordered on a whim after two decades of wired Sennheisers and a growing irritation at being tethered to the desk. Out of the box they are noticeably less bassy than every consumer pair I have tried, which took a day to adjust to and now sounds correct. Build is where the money is. Metal at the hinges, real leather on the pads, and the fold is proper: the cups swivel and the whole thing goes flat into a case barely 5cm deep that will actually fit in hand luggage. So far the battery has been charged twice, both times out of nervousness rather than need. It takes the same USB-C cable as the phone and can play while charging, which sounds obvious and is not, on plenty of rivals. One warning: they are a firm fit. Over glasses the first hour is fine and the second is less so.

Came to these from a wired pair and a desktop amp, expecting to be disappointed by Bluetooth, and the honest answer is that on aptX from a laptop I cannot tell the difference on anything but the quietest classical. The crossfeed setting is the feature nobody talks about and the one I use every day. It pulls the stereo image in from the sides of your skull to somewhere in front of you, which on a long listening session is the difference between finishing an album and taking them off. Seven months in the only complaint is the app, which is slow to launch and buries the equaliser. The headphones themselves have not put a foot wrong, and the battery reads about 40% after a week of two-hour evenings. They also take a cable and work as a plain wired pair, which is why they came on a flight.
