Used for: More than a year
Still the only board my wrists tolerate
Charging two halves is a faff
A year on and I would not go back to one piece
Used for: 3–6 months
Two halves means two things to charge
Splitting it apart stopped my shoulders aching, though it looks daft
Used for: 3–6 months
The split is the whole point and it works
You lose the numpad and there is no way round it
Sat the two halves shoulder width apart and the wrist pain I had put down to age turned out to be a keyboard problem. Typing speed took a fortnight to come back, and then went past where it had been.
Used for: Less than a month
The two halves will not stay in sync over wireless
Wireless between the halves has been the problem from the start. Every so often the right side drops for a beat and comes back, usually mid-sentence, and you end up with half a word missing. Wired it behaves perfectly, which rather defeats the object of a wireless split board at this money. Firmware may fix it. It has not yet.
Used for: 3–6 months
Actuation is adjustable per half and per key
The halves are easy to knock out of alignment
Good board, though nothing holds the halves in place beyond friction, so a knee under the desk sends the left one wandering. I have taken to putting a strip of the rubbery shelf liner under each. Fixed for the price of a cup of coffee!
