Set the actuation shallow on the movement keys and deep everywhere else, and the difference in an FPS is embarrassing to admit. Dropped a star only because the wrist rest is a magnet-and-fabric affair that picks up every crumb in the room and cannot be washed.

Three stars is a software score, not a hardware one. The board has done everything asked of it since I bought it and the switches feel identical to the first week. If SteelSeries GG were a lean utility this would be five without hesitation. It is not lean. It installs a launcher, a moments recorder and a sonar audio layer whether you want them or not, sits in the tray using memory, and updates itself with a window that steals focus mid-game. All I want is to set actuation depths and lighting, write them to the board, and never see it again. You can uninstall most of it and the board keeps the last settings, which is what I did in the end. But having to fight the bundled software to use a keyboard that costs this much is not a good look, and it is why the score is what it is.

Came from a board with normal mechanical switches and the difference on double-taps is the sort of thing you feel in the first hour. Registering a release the instant the key starts to rise changes how movement works. The software insists on a login before it will sync profiles, though it will write to the board offline if you refuse.

Replaced a ten-year-old Logitech that had a dead F5 and the jump in feel is enormous. Keys register the moment you think about them rather than at the bottom of the travel, which took a few days to trust. The wrist rest clicks on magnetically and lines up dead straight every time. Small thing, but the last one I owned had to be nudged into place daily.
