Replaced two machines and freed a corner of the office
Replaced two ageing machines with this one and got a whole corner of the office back. It copies, it scans to email, it staples, and everybody had worked out how to drive it inside a morning!
Used for: 3–6 months
Brand colours come out right on every stock we have tried
Colour accuracy is the reason it was chosen and it has justified that entirely. Our brand red comes out as our brand red on every stock we have put through it!
Used for: 1–3 months
The output itself is excellent
Awkward to get scanning working, and it wakes the whole office up
Three stars is a fair summary of a machine that prints well and fights you everywhere else. The output is genuinely good: sharp text, even colour right across a full page, and duplex that does not skew. Getting it there was the trouble. It took three goes for our own IT to make scanning to a shared folder work, because the authentication it expects is not the one our server offers by default, and the documentation describes a network nobody actually has. Printing from phones works, but only through an app that has to be set up for each person separately. On top of that it warms up noisily. First thing in the morning the whole office knows the copier is awake, and it keeps that up for a good minute before settling.
Used for: 6–12 months
Fussy about coated stock, and the staple is not quite square
The machine itself has been reliable and the print quality is not in dispute. What I would warn anyone about is the paper it will and will not take. Anything textured or heavily coated goes through the bypass one sheet at a time, and even then it will occasionally refuse a batch it accepted quite happily the week before. Stapled sets sometimes come out with the staple a little off the corner as well, enough that a fussy person notices. Ten months of this and we have simply learned which stocks it likes, but it took a lot of wasted paper to find out.

The touch panel is slow, and it loses the destination you picked
Four stars because what it does, it does well, and one held back for the interface. Colour work comes off it accurately enough that our brochures no longer go out to a trade printer, and it has been solid through more than a year of daily use. The panel is the problem. It is an Android tablet bolted to a copier and it behaves like one: slow to wake, a stutter when you scroll a long address list, and a habit of losing the scan destination you had selected if somebody walks up and prods the screen while it is thinking.
