It jams in the duplex unit several times a week now, always in the same place, and clearing it means opening three doors and fishing out a concertinaed sheet. The colour has drifted warm as well, and no amount of calibration brings it back to where it started out.

Does what a busy office needs and does it quietly, which was not a given at this size. It sits in an open-plan room and does not intrude even on a long run, and the fan noise afterwards drops away quickly rather than droning on. Colour on plain paper is respectable, and on coated stock it is genuinely good.

Prints and copies perfectly well, but it has turned out to be the fussiest machine in the building about paper. Recycled stock jams in the upper cassette often enough that we have given up and put fresh in it, and eight months in the feeder has started leaving a faint line down scanned pages unless somebody remembers to clean the glass strip.

Chosen for a busy accountancy office where the machine runs from eight in the morning until well after six. It has kept up without complaint: a hundred-page report, duplexed and stapled, comes out in one go and lands in the tray square. Scanning is the part that has changed how people work. Whole client files go through the feeder in a single pass, both sides, straight into the document system, and the text recognition is accurate enough that nobody has had to retype a reference. Colour was a little cool out of the box, but a few minutes in the settings sorted that for me.

Came from a machine half this size and the jump in capacity is what you notice first. Four drawers means A4, A3, headed paper and card are all loaded at once, and nobody has to swap anything over just to print a letter. Warm-up is quick, the first page out of sleep arrives before you have finished walking back to your desk, and scanning double-sided at speed has taken a genuine chore off the office!
