The Silver sits below Lexar's Gold line and the honest answer is that for anything a normal person shoots, the difference does not show. It sustains everything a Z8 asks of it in 8K, and the burst counter has never budged off maximum no matter how long I lean on the shutter. Where the Gold pulls ahead is on paper, in the sustained write figure that matters if you are recording RAW video for half an hour at a stretch. I do not. So I saved a good chunk and spent it on a better tripod head, which has improved my photographs considerably more than a faster card would have. Five months of use and no regrets at all.

Took it to Iceland in February for aurora timelapses, where the old card would occasionally throw a write error once the camera got properly cold. Six hundred frames a night, well below freezing, and not one dropped file. Marked down a star for the packaging rather than the card. It ships in a slim case that vanishes the moment you put it down, and I spent twenty minutes with a torch one night convinced I had dropped it in the snow. A bit of orange tape sorted that.

There is a discrepancy worth flagging. The box claims one figure, the camera's own card test reports something lower, and a benchmark in a card reader lands somewhere between the two. Nothing has actually failed because of it, and a forty minute continuous take in 4K 50 recorded and played back perfectly, but if you are the sort of person who checks these things you will notice. My suspicion is that the camera cannot drive a 4.0 card at full tilt, so what I am measuring is the body and not the card. Four stars rather than five because I should not have to guess. In every practical sense it has done the job asked of it.
