A 2TB SD card sounds absurd until you leave a camera on a timelapse rig for a fortnight and never touch it. Mine is in an A7R V doing dawn-to-dusk sequences on a coastal path, and the whole job now fits on one card with room over. No swapping in the rain, no losing a card in the grass!

The maths is what dropped this to three stars. Buying one 2TB card costs noticeably more than two 1TB cards of the same family, and the moment you put all your eggs in one basket you have a single point of failure for an entire job. I have had a card fail on me before and the memory of it has not left. The card itself is faultless in use. Sustained write through 4K 60 on an A7 IV never wavered, formatting in camera took under a minute, and it shows about 1.86TB usable which is exactly what the maths says it should. Would I buy it again? For a rig I can only reach on a site visit, yes. For general shooting, I would take the two-card safety net and put the difference towards a lens, and that is what I will do next time.

Bought this for a long expedition where posting cards home was not an option, and it swallowed the entire trip: stills, 4K, drone offloads, the lot, on one card in one body. 18 months on it is still my main card and I have not had a single corrupt file out of it. The only grumble is at the other end. Over a plain UHS-I reader a full card takes most of an evening to copy. A UHS-II reader turned that into a lunch break.

This lives in the school's video camera and never comes out. The whole point was to stop staff losing 64GB cards in drawers, and a card this size means a term of concerts, sports days and assemblies sits in one place until someone sensible archives it. Four stars only because the write speed is the ordinary V30 rate rather than anything special, so the 4K bitrate our camera uses is close to the limit and I would not push it further. For what it does, though, it has been faultless, and the little plastic case actually gets used for once.
