32GB is the sweet spot for gaming and a couple of VMs
Two Windows VMs in Hyper-V alongside Tarkov and the system still has headroom, where the 16GB it replaced was swapping constantly. Training on the first boot took a minute and change, long enough that I thought something was wrong, and it has been instant on every restart since. No errors in three passes of MemTest86! Eight months of that pattern now and nothing has changed.

Four sticks would not go past 5200
Fine as a pair. Adding a second identical kit to fill all four slots on my B650 dropped the whole lot to 5200 no matter what I did with voltages, which is an AM5 problem rather than a Lexar one, but worth knowing before you plan on 64GB the cheap way.

Lexar's own lighting utility is rough
The kit itself is faultless! Dropped into a Gigabyte B650M, enabled XMP, posted straight into Windows at 6000 30-36-36 and has not wobbled since, including a full pass of TestMem5 with the anta777 extreme config while I was at work. Three weeks of ownership and not a single error yet. Where it falls down is the lighting control. The Lexar utility fought with Gigabyte RGB Fusion until I uninstalled Fusion entirely, and even then the effects list is thin and the sync between the two sticks drifts out of phase after a sleep and wake. Setting a static colour and forgetting about it is the answer, but at this money I expected the software side to be less of an afterthought.

Bought as the cheapest 6000 CL30 kit I could find that still had lighting, and it has done everything asked of it. Went into an Asus B650E with a 7700X, XMP tab set to profile one, memory training took roughly twenty five seconds on that first cold boot and about four seconds every boot after. Ran Karhu overnight to 6400 percent coverage with no errors, then left it alone. Two 16GB sticks so single rank, which the board seems happier with than the four stick setup I had before. AIDA reports 63ns latency which is fine for what this cost. Nine months in now and I have not had to touch the BIOS once.

Two of these ARES sticks went into a B650 Tomahawk and the 6000 profile came up on the first try. Marked down a star because the RGB diffuser is dimmer on the right hand stick, noticeable in a glass case.

Diffuser shows every speck of dust
This kit has outlasted two motherboards now, an ASRock B650M that died on me and the Asus board it lives in today, and it took the profile on both without so much as a failed post. The only maintenance it needs is a wipe of the diffuser, dust shows up on the frosted plastic far more than it did on my old DDR4 sticks. Two years in and the sticks themselves have not aged at all.

Runs the advertised 6000 on a Z790 with a 13600K without touching a single voltage, which is more than the last kit managed. Sits low enough that the Dark Rock 4 clears it, and the lighting can be switched off entirely in BIOS if you want a dark build.

Height was my worry with a big air cooler over the first slot, but the ARES heat spreader is short enough that the front fan sits at stock position on a Thermalright Peerless Assassin. Lighting is soft rather than blinding, which suits a white build!
