No complaints at all about how it runs. It swallowed a 4070 Super and a 14700K without the fan doing much at all, and the modular sockets are clearly labelled so the build went quickly. What I did not expect was how deep the unit is. In a compact ATX case it eats into the cable channel, so plan your routing before you screw it in.

Swapped out a tired 650W unit for this and the extra headroom has been the whole point. A 7800X3D and a 4070 Ti pull nowhere near the 850W ceiling, so the fan sits still most evenings and only spins up during long sessions. Cables are stiff but manageable!

My view on this one has settled. As a power supply it is genuinely good: steady voltages under a load that swings hard, a fan that stays off for most of an evening, and no coil whine at any frame rate I have thrown at it over ten months. Where it loses a star is what you pay for the MLG dressing. The black and red shell and the printed branding push the price above plainer GOLD units with the same wattage and the same warranty length, and once the side panel is on you see about a third of it anyway. If you want the look, it earns its keep. If you just want 850 clean watts, shop around first!

Bought this for a build that needed to be quiet as well as capable, and it has delivered on both counts. The semi passive fan is the headline. Below roughly half load it simply does not turn, so browsing and video are silent from the PSU end. Push a long raytraced session and it comes on, but it is a low whoosh rather than a whine, and I have never heard it over the case fans. The cable set is the other half. Being fully modular I fitted four leads and left the rest in the bag, which made routing in a mid tower far less of a fight. My only complaint is that the leads hold their shape, so getting the 24 pin to sit flat behind the tray took some persuasion. No failed boots and no coil whine in over a year of daily use.

This powers a fairly hungry gaming rig and it has been completely uneventful, which is exactly what you want from a power supply. The full modular layout was the reason I paid the extra. I only ran the cables I actually needed, so the space behind the tray is not stuffed with a spare bundle of SATA leads I will never use. Eight hundred and fifty watts is more than my setup asks for, which means the fan spends most of its life stopped and the whole machine is quieter at idle than the box it replaced. No shutdowns, no whine, no drama in a year and a half, including a hot summer with the window shut!

Second build I have used an MSI supply in and this one has been the easiest so far. Everything you want from a modern ATX unit is here. Full modular so nothing unused goes in the case, 80 Plus GOLD so the wall meter reads sensibly, and enough PCIe leads for a card that wants three separate connectors. The bag of cables is properly organised with each one tagged, which sounds trivial until you have spent an evening guessing. Running a 9700X and a 5070 Ti for two months now, the only thing keeping it off five stars is the price. There are 850W GOLD units for meaningfully less if the looks do not matter to you.

I would buy this again without thinking. Swapped it in when I moved to a card that wanted more than my old 650 could sensibly give, and the difference in stability under transient spikes was immediate, no more random restarts in the middle of a benchmark. The fan behaviour deserves a mention. It is off until the load justifies it and then ramps gradually rather than snapping to full speed, so you never get that startled whoosh other units do. Fully modular helps a cramped case too, and eight months in there is still nothing to report!

Most of my use is gaming, and the thing I keep coming back to is the noise floor. At the desk I genuinely cannot tell whether the PSU fan is turning, and under a full load it is a soft rush rather than the buzz my old bronze unit made. 850 watts is the right number for a single high end card with room to spare. Cable quality is good, though the EPS lead is a little short if you route it over the top of a full tower.
