Full signal upstairs and down the garden at last
Both units need a plug and a shelf, neither hides away
Our house is Victorian, which is a polite way of saying it is full of walls that eat wi-fi. The router the ISP left us managed the front room and about half the hall. Two of these, one by the front door and the satellite on the upstairs landing, and there is now full signal in the top bedroom and out to the shed at the bottom of the garden. The dedicated backhaul band is what makes it work, I think. With the old kit the upstairs extender halved everything it passed on; here a laptop upstairs and a laptop downstairs measure within a few points of each other. Six weeks in, the app has asked me for nothing, the guest network took thirty seconds to set up, and the only thing I would change is that both units want a plug and a shelf rather than tucking away.
