The hardware itself is lovely
Barely usable without the controller running somewhere
I want to like this more than I do. The hardware is lovely: metal, front display, ports where you want them, and the PoE budget is generous for forty-eight of them. What has cost it two stars in the first weeks is that a managed switch at this price should be usable on its own, and this one really is not. Without the controller running somewhere you get a stub of a web page and very little else. We already run the ecosystem so it works for us, but I would not buy it as a standalone switch and I do not think it is honest to sell it as one.
Used for: 3–6 months
The switch itself is fine. The problem is that everything useful about it lives in the controller, and when the controller is having a bad day you are left looking at a box of blinking lights with no way in. I have had two occasions now where an update to the controller software broke the view of this switch for an evening, with the network itself running perfectly the whole time. Frustrating rather than fatal, but not what I expected at this money.

The screen map matches the labels on the front
Fans run constantly regardless of load
Racked, adopted, done. The port map on screen matches the labels on the front, which sounds trivial until you have used a switch where it does not, and the PoE budget covers everything we plugged in!
Used for: Less than a month
Adopted and mapped in under a minute
Adopted into the controller in about thirty seconds and every port was named and mapped before I had finished my tea. The fans are louder than the marketing photographs suggest

No surprises anywhere
Fans you will certainly hear
Forty-eight ports, one screen, no surprises!

Three under-desk switches now live in one rack
Wants more air than a small cupboard gives it
Bought to replace three unmanaged switches that had grown up under desks over the years, and the tidying alone was worth the money. Everything is in one rack, every port has a name, and I can see which one a device is on without walking the building. Five months in, the one thing I would warn about is heat and noise together. It sits in a small cupboard and the fans are audible through the door on a warm afternoon. Nothing has faltered, and the power budget has plenty in reserve, but I would give it more air than we have if I were doing it again.
