Rock steady, and VLANs are painless in the console
No PoE at all, so the access points need another box
Steady as a rock and I have not had to think about it since the day it went in. The one thing worth flagging is obvious in hindsight though: there is no PoE here whatsoever, so budget for injectors or a small powered switch alongside it
Used for: 6–12 months
Cool, quiet and boringly reliable
The console still wants an internet round trip now and then
Runs cool enough that the cupboard no longer needs its own fan, which the old stack certainly did. Eight months in, the only grumble is that the management page occasionally insists on phoning home before it will let me in.

Ten gig to the NAS and to both editing machines
Only a pair of SFP cages, so plan the uplinks first
Two editors and a shared NAS on ten gig each, and a project file that used to take 20 minutes to pull across now lands before you have stood up for a coffee. Setup was one page of VLANs and nothing else. My only real note for anyone else is to count your uplink needs before ordering, because the fibre options are thinner than you might assume!

Effectively silent at the load we put on it
Heavier than it looks in the photos
Silent at our load, which was the entire reason for choosing this over the powered model. Lifting it into the rack on my own was the hard part!

All the speed of the PoE version with none of the noise
Bought the version without PoE quite deliberately, because the access points here already sit on their own injectors, and the difference in noise against the powered model in our other office is night and day. It lives at the bottom of a 9U rack in a cupboard off the kitchen and I have never once heard it from the next room. A year and a half of that now.
