Pros

The reason this exists is Apple's one-external-display limit, and it gets round it properly rather than with mirroring tricks. Both panels come up as separate desktops, both at full rate, and neither of them flickers when the machine is busy. Everything else it does is ordinary in a good way: gigabit ethernet that is quicker than the office wifi, enough USB for a keyboard, mouse and a drive, and enough power going back the other way to keep the laptop topped up through a working day. The only sour note is the lead in the box, which is about a foot long and stiff. A longer one is a few pounds and worth ordering at the same time, because the hub really wants to live behind the monitors rather than beside the keyboard!

The performance is not in doubt, the reliability is. Both screens work beautifully until the machine sleeps, and then it is a coin toss whether the second one comes back. Unplug, count to five, plug in, and it is fine. Five months in that has become part of the morning routine and I resent it a little more each time.
