Trackpad is the bit I did not expect to use and now could not do without. Two-finger scrolling in a browser feels like a laptop, and the iPad stops being a toy!

Bought as a going-back-to-college present and it has been used every single evening since. The magnets hold the tablet dead straight, the cutouts line up with the ports and the camera bump sits in its own recess rather than being squashed. My only grumble is the fabric back, which has already picked up a mark from a biro that will not come off with a damp cloth. A wipeable finish would suit a case that lives in a rucksack better than a woven one does.

The kickstand is what separates this from every folio I have tried. You set the angle you want anywhere across the range and it stays there on a train table, rather than snapping to two preset positions. Detaching the keyboard for reading is a second's work and the back half stays on, so the iPad is still protected while you do it. Two years on the fabric round the trackpad has darkened where my palm rests, and the keys themselves have not worn shiny!

Three stars because of the weight, not the workmanship. Together the two halves come out heavier than a small laptop, and after a year and a half of carrying it I mostly leave the keyboard at home and take the tablet bare. Lovely thing on a desk; a burden in a bag.
