Wakes and sleeps the screen without fail
Very expensive for what it physically is
It does the job a folio should do and it does it beautifully, which makes the price harder to swallow rather than easier. The cover holds the pen along the spine and the magnets are strong enough that it has not come loose in a rucksack. Opening the cover wakes the screen and closing it puts it to sleep, every time, no delay. The material feels like a proper book cover. What I cannot get past is that this is a piece of folded fabric and a magnet for the money. It is worth four stars for what it does and two for what it costs.

The grey picks up marks from a bag
Lovely thing to hold and it makes the tablet feel like a notebook, but the grey marks easily in a bag
Used for: 1–3 months
Stops the scuffs without adding bulk
No pocket for anything else
Bought it because the bare device was picking up scuffs in a work bag within a week, and that has stopped completely. The cover is stiff enough to protect the screen and thin enough that the whole thing still feels like a pad of paper rather than a tablet.
Used for: 3–6 months
The cover lies flat and stays there while you write
The price is difficult to justify
The hinge is the clever part: it holds the cover flat against the back while you write, and there is no spring in it trying to shut the thing on your hand. Magnets on the spine keep the pen from rolling off a table, which the strap on my old case never managed. Five months of carrying it to meetings in the same bag as a laptop and a flask, and the device has not picked up a single mark. It costs more than the whole idea should, mind.

Folds right back for writing
Adds a fair bit of weight for what it is
Folds back on itself so you can write with the cover out of the way, which the cheap sleeve I had before could not manage. The pen sits in the spine and stays there!
