Survived the stairs with nothing to show for it
Only the one stand angle is much use
Bought for a teenager who is hard on everything she owns, and so far it has taken a slide down the stairs and a dropped textbook without a mark. The stand angle is a bit steep for watching something in bed, though she has not complained about that once!
Used for: Less than a month
Holds the tablet square with no rattle
Replaced a third-party folio that had stretched and no longer held the tablet square. This one grips all four corners and there is no rattle when you shake it. The pen holder is a proper channel, not a loop of elastic!
Used for: 3–6 months
Barely adds any thickness
Pricey for what is essentially a cover
Snaps on, stays on, and does not add a millimetre you would notice
Used for: 3–6 months
Does what an official cover ought to do, and the pen no longer goes missing
Used for: 1–3 months
The pen finally stays where you put it
The pen sticks to the back of the folio rather than the tablet, which means it survives being put in a bag
Used for: 1–3 months
Soft-touch finish is a magnet for fingerprints
Five stars with a warning attached. The finish is a soft-touch black that looks superb for about a week and then starts collecting every fingerprint and speck of pocket fluff in the house, and a dry cloth does not shift it. Protection-wise I have no complaints at all: the corners are raised over the screen so it sits face down on a desk without touching, and the camera island has a lip of its own. Just be aware you are buying something that needs wiping.

Two stand angles and neither of them slips
Folds into a stand at two angles, one for typing on a table and one for watching, and both hold without creeping. The magnets snap it shut hard enough that it will not flap open in a bag!
Used for: 6–12 months
The lip keeps the glass off the table
It will not fold flat behind the tablet
Genuine screen lip is the reason to buy an official cover rather than a cheap one. Put the tablet face down on a coffee shop table and the glass does not touch the wood, which after ten months of doing exactly that has left the screen without a scratch. The back half adds very little thickness for what it protects.
