Fitting a 360 in the roof of this took ten minutes because the bracket slides out and you build the radiator onto it on the desk, then drop the whole assembly back in. Every case should do this. The other thing worth saying is the filtration. Every intake is on the floor, they all share one large filter, and that filter pulls out of the front like a drawer with the machine running. Cleaning is genuinely a thirty second job now!

Vertical airflow means the graphics card gets air before anything else has warmed it, and that alone dropped mine by a noticeable margin over a conventional tower. What nobody warns you about is the build order. The board goes in flat and the cables all route underneath, so once it is assembled changing a single fan header means taking the card out first. Plan the build in one sitting.

The stack effect is not a slogan, it is the whole layout: the board lies flat, air comes in at the floor and leaves at the roof, and heat goes the way it wants to go anyway. The practical result is that my card idles with the fans stopped where it used to spin. Two years on and the six intake fans have never had to go above about half speed. The cost is footprint. It is tall and it is deep, and the flat board means everything is accessed from above.

Wanted a quiet machine in a small flat and this was the recommendation I kept seeing, so I took the risk on the odd shape. It is silent. The six bundled fans run slowly because they do not have to fight the layout, and there is no front panel for the noise to reflect off. Assembly was strange but logical once you accept that the board goes in like a drawer!

Two stars, and I am the person who talked two friends into buying one, so this is not sour grapes. The cooling concept works. Nothing I have owned runs cooler for less noise, and if that is all you want, buy it. The problem is everything else about living with it. The flat board layout means the cable runs are longer than any standard PSU set will reach, so a set of extensions is not optional. The top panel is the only access and it is heavy enough that you want two hands, which is awkward when the machine is on the floor. The USB ports are on the back edge of the roof where you cannot see them, so plugging anything in is done by feel. Five months of this and I have stopped opening it up, which for someone who tinkers is the real verdict.
