Pros
Properly shielded, and the run past the consumer unit is clean now

Shielded cable is stiff and hates a tight corner

Replaced an unshielded run that had to pass within a few inches of the consumer unit and a length of mains, and the intermittent drops that had bothered me all winter stopped dead. Ten months on, not one error since. The trade-off is handling. A shielded cable of this gauge does not turn corners tidily, and behind a cabinet you need a far wider loop than you would expect, so measure with that in mind. The foil also means earthing it properly at the panel end, or you have gone to the trouble for nothing

Bought purple quite deliberately so the camera run is instantly identifiable in a panel otherwise full of grey. Sounds trivial until you are stood in a cupboard at nine at night looking for one particular cable!
