Eight months in and the numbers have not moved. Same temperatures under the same load, same frame rates, same silence at idle. That consistency is worth more to me than any headline figure, because the machine I replaced got noticeably slower and louder over its life as the paste dried out and the filters clogged. The only thing I would strip back is the bundled software. It wants to run four separate services to change the colour of some lights, and 3GB of memory sitting there doing nothing on a gaming machine is not a good trade.

Came off a console I had been playing since school and the jump is hard to describe to somebody who has not done it. It is not just that things look better, it is that everything is instant. No install queue, no compressing, no waiting for a patch before you can start. The machine itself is a lovely object too. It sits beside the monitor rather than under the desk because I want to look at it, and the lighting through the mesh front is beautifully judged!

The case deserves most of the praise here. The whole side comes off in one movement, the top panel lifts without a tool, and there is a hinged cable cover that hides everything you do not want to see. Working inside it is the easiest I have known on any machine. What surprised me was that a card this heavy went in with nothing holding the far end. Within an hour of unboxing there was a visible droop at the bracket, and I ended up fitting a support of my own before I would leave it running unattended. Everything else about the build is meticulous, which makes the omission stranger. 30 seconds and a small plastic part would have solved it.
