The airflow is the only place the budget clearly ran out. There is a single exhaust at the back and three mounting points sitting empty, which on a machine with a card this hot is optimistic. Adding a pair of intakes cost very little and dropped the card temperature noticeably. Four months in it has been faultless otherwise.

Five stars for the machine and none at all for the styling, which looks like an office tower with a window cut into it. If that matters to you, look elsewhere. If it does not, this is a remarkable amount of computer in a box that does not shout about it. Nine months in and it has never once made me wait for anything.

Four stars for a machine that is superb at what it was clearly costed for and slightly short of what I actually do. Games are perfect, obviously. The moment I have a game running and a recording going and a browser open with a dozen tabs, 32GB stops being comfortable and the machine starts trimming things in the background. The rest of the build gives no cause for complaint at all. It is cool, it is quiet, the cabling is neat, and there are two empty slots so the fix is cheap enough when I get round to it.

Ordering this bare turned out to be the right call. A clean install, nothing preloaded, nothing nagging, and the machine was mine within the hour rather than being handed to me with a desktop full of trials. What it does is almost silly. Everything I own at maximum at 1440p, the frame counter parked against the limiter, and the fans barely moving off their floor. Coming off a build I put together myself this feels like cheating!
