Five stars because nothing about how it performs has ever given me a moment's doubt, and I am still cross about the drive it came with. Everything else the builder chose is generous. The storage is the one place they clearly went looking for a saving

One star for a machine that could not get through an evening. Anything demanding and it would restart without warning, sometimes twenty minutes in, sometimes two hours. Memory testing came back clean, temperatures were nowhere near a limit, and dropping the memory to the slow default was the only thing that stopped it, which points at a profile that was never validated on this board. So it works now, at a speed below what I paid for, on a machine I have spent my own evenings diagnosing. That is not what a prebuilt is for.

At idle it is inaudible, which makes the twitchiness more obvious than it would be on a noisier machine. Open anything and the fans jump for a couple of seconds then settle, over and over. Six weeks in I finally set a 5 second delay in the firmware and the whole character of the machine changed. Same hardware, no more darting about.

Eight months in and the only two things I have added are a licence and a second SSD, both of which I knew about before ordering. Since then it has run every single thing I have installed at maximum without a stutter, held the processor under 70 through long sessions, and never made a noise I have had to think about.

Two stars from somebody who liked it for a year and a bit. The performance has not changed, but the noise has. Three of the case fans have developed a low rumble that was not there at the start, and the cooler fan now clicks at low speed, which in a quiet room is the only thing you can hear. For a machine at this price I expected fans that would outlast the warranty rather than ones that sound tired inside eighteen months. Everything else, to be fair, is exactly as it was.

The performance is beyond argument and the storage decision is baffling. A single 1TB drive on a machine with this card means the operating system, a handful of games and nothing else, and adding a second one meant removing the graphics card because the second slot lives underneath it. Once past that it has been superb. Nothing has come close to making it work hard, the fans have stayed at a level I do not notice, and six weeks in there has not been a single crash or hiccup. Just order it knowing you will be buying storage on the same day.

Bought to feed a 165Hz ultrawide and it does that with room to spare in everything I have tried. The only irritation is the storage, which needed a second drive almost immediately!
