Speakers good enough to retire the separate pair
The screen is what sells it, and the speakers are the surprise: good enough that the separate pair went in a drawer on the first afternoon. It wakes in about 2 seconds from a key press. Four stars only because the storage will want an external drive before long, though that was expected at this size.
Used for: 1–3 months
Two sockets, both the wrong shape for everything we own
Everything about the machine is excellent and the whole review is about what is not in the box. There are two sockets, both the same shape, but every cable in our house is the other one. A printer, a backup drive and a card reader means a hub, and the hub sits on the desk that was supposed to be clear. There is also no way to add memory or storage later, so the order page is a set of decisions that last the life of the machine. None of that changes how good it is to use every day, which is why it is still four stars.

It arrived, it went on the desk, and it was working before the box was folded up. Migration from the old machine ran while we had lunch and everything was where it had been left, down to the browser tabs. The only change since has been an external drive for photographs, which was expected. Quiet, quick, and the whole desk is now one cable and a keyboard!

Takes up about as much room as a picture frame
Only two ports, both on the back
Set up in the corner of a small flat because there is no room for a tower, and the whole 24 inch screen takes about as much desk as a picture frame. Fast, silent, and the best thing in the room to look at!
Used for: More than a year
Two years without a single hesitation
Storage needed an external drive
Two years of switching it on every morning and it has not once made me wait or made a sound
Used for: 3–6 months
Completely silent, which a microphone proves
Bought as the machine for a music room, where a fan would be a genuine problem, and it has been silent through every session so far. Nothing has come close to making it audible. A 2 hour take with the machine a metre from the microphone and there is nothing of it on the track, which was the entire reason for choosing it over a tower. The camera and the microphone built into it are good enough that lessons run without anything else plugged in, and the speakers are far better than a screen has any business having. Four months in, the two things I would tell anybody: order more storage than seems sensible, because it cannot be changed afterwards, and expect to buy an adapter for whatever you already own. Neither has spoiled it, though.
