Wakes instantly and never makes a sound
Four stars and the missing one is entirely about ports. Everything else is a delight: it wakes instantly, it has never made a sound, and the screen is good enough that colour work no longer needs a second monitor. But two sockets on the back, both the same shape, means a hub, and a hub means a cable on a desk I bought to be cable free.
Used for: More than a year
Easy to look at for a full working day
A hub was needed in the first week
A year and a half of daily use in a small business, mostly invoicing, email and a great many spreadsheets, and it has not had one bad day. It goes on at nine and off at six, it has never needed a restart that was not an update, and the screen is easy to look at for eight hours, which the old monitor never was. The honest criticism is that 24GB is what it will have forever, and that the two ports on the back meant buying a hub in the first week. Neither has got in the way yet, though!

The desk came back and the noise went away
Coming from a Windows tower and a separate monitor, the first surprise was how much of the desk came back. Setting it up took about twenty minutes, most of which was signing into things. The screen is sharper than anything I have worked on, the speakers are genuinely good, and the whole thing is silent in a way a tower with three fans never is. Four stars, not five, for the learning curve. Nothing works quite where the muscle memory expects it, the keyboard shortcuts are all subtly different, and the file dialogue took days to stop being annoying. That is not a fault, it is a change, but anybody moving across should expect a spell of small irritations before it feels normal!

Quicker than it looks
Two ports, both round the back
Beautiful thing, and quicker than it has any right to be!

Colours match what comes off the printer
The stand does not adjust for height
Bought for my daughter, who is doing art coursework, and it has been exactly right: the screen is the point, the colours match what comes out of the printer, and it takes up a fraction of the space the old setup did
Used for: 6–12 months
Nobody has ever had to ask how to work it
Every port is round the back and the wrong shape
This lives on a hall table and does the family admin: banking, forms, school letters and the occasional video call with relatives who are not close by. For that it is close to perfect, though not quite. It takes 10 seconds from a cold start, the camera is far better than any laptop in the house, and nobody has ever asked how to work it, which was the real test. The two marks against it are the ports, which are all round the back and both the wrong shape for everything we own, and the fact that 24GB was the right decision only because there will never be a chance to make it again.

Makes the desk look deliberate
Silent, sharp, and it has made the whole desk look deliberate rather than accidental!
