Used for: 6–12 months
Still no rattle from the stabilisers
Armoury Crate is a lot of software for one board
It types exactly as it did on day one, and that is eight months of daily use
Used for: 6–12 months
The knob and the little screen both get used
You need the software running for the screen to show anything useful
The only wear anywhere is a slight sheen on the WASD caps, and that is half a year on
Used for: 3–6 months
Hot-swap sockets meant I could try three switch sets in a weekend
Heavy enough that it is not going in a bag
Quiet enough for the office, weighty enough to stay put!
Used for: 1–3 months
Wireless is indistinguishable from the cable
My old board went in the loft the same evening this arrived. The space bar has no rattle in it whatsoever, which at this money it had better not. The sound, though, is deeper than I expected!
Used for: 3–6 months
Sounds like nothing else on the desk, though it is the knob I use most
Used for: 3–6 months
Gasket mount takes the sting out of a long typing session
Bought it as the last keyboard I would need to buy, which is a daft thing to say about a keyboard, and so far it has held up. The carbon plate makes the whole thing feel like one piece rather than a tray with keys screwed to it, and there is no ping at all when you bottom out on the space bar. The OLED is a gimmick I expected to switch off and never did. Track title, battery, current profile, all at a glance. Four months on and the caps show no shine where my fingers sit.
Used for: 1–3 months
The factory lube job is better than most people manage at home
Came off a cheap membrane board that my flatmate could hear through a wall. This one thocks rather than clacks, and on a work call nobody has said a word about it. So far the only thing I have changed is the keymap!
Used for: Less than a month
Sounds superb out of the box
Nowhere sensible to put the wrist rest when you are done
I have stopped noticing it already, which is the highest praise a keyboard gets
Used for: Less than a month
Arrives sounding finished rather than like a kit to fix
The price is genuinely hard to justify to anyone who asks
Unboxed it next to a friend's build that cost him the same in parts and a fortnight of evenings, and the point of paying for a finished board became obvious quite quickly. No ping, no rattle, no hollow bit under the right shift. The case is dense in a way photographs do not convey. Lifting it out of the box, the first thought was that something else had been packed underneath. It does not slide about on the desk, which the last one did constantly.
Used for: More than a year
Sound has not changed at all with use
The wrist rest attracts every bit of dust in the room
Replaced a decade-old Filco that I thought I would never part with. This is quieter, softer to land on, and the hot-swap sockets have taken three different switch sets without complaint. The Filco went to my brother and I have not missed it once!
