It has quietly become the only computer I use. Writing, analysis, plots, everything, and it moves between the desk and a rucksack without any of the ceremony the old setup needed. Ten months in the only thing I have learned to expect is that a run past the 40 minute mark will eventually bring the fans up. Nothing dramatic, but the room notices.

Being able to iterate at midnight without booking compute time has changed how much actually gets done. It does warm up on the underside if you leave it going for hours, enough that it moves off the knees and onto a table!

The charger has not left the house since term started. Seven or eight hours of notes, reading and the odd bit of code and it still shows 20% when I get home, and that is four months of carrying it between two buildings and a library. The old machine needed a socket by lunch, which decided where I sat.
