Set up for a hybrid desk where the laptop comes and goes most days, and it has removed every adapter I used to keep in the drawer. Plug in, the machine charges at full whack, the screen wakes, the wired network appears and the keyboard and mouse follow it. Nine months of that and it has never once needed a reboot to sort itself out. The camera sitting in the bezel rather than clipped on top means there is nothing to pack away either. Only quibble is the slot the camera retracts into, which has quietly filled with dust and now wants a puff of air every so often. Hardly a scandal on a screen this good!

Sat beside an older UltraSharp and after a small tweak to the white point you honestly cannot tell which is which. The second input is HDMI only, so the test machine ends up on the lesser cable.

Working area and sharpness are exactly what was promised. Where it caught me out was the other end of the cable: my old laptop could manage the resolution but not comfortably, and windows would tear when scrolling a long page. On the newer machine over Thunderbolt it is flawless, and the same cable charges it. Worth checking what your graphics output can actually do before committing this much money, because the screen will happily show you a picture that stutters and none of that is the screen's fault.

Came off a pair of 27 inch 4K panels and the plan was to replace both of them with this one. Mostly it works: at 200 per cent I get a proper amount of room and the sharpness is a genuine step up on what I had. What I did not think through is that one screen means one set of windows, and I miss being able to shove a call onto the second panel and forget about it. That is my planning rather than the screen's fault, but worth saying out loud for anyone doing the same sums.

Full white pages are the test I care about and there is nothing to see on this one, corner to corner, which was not true of either panel before it. Eight months on and that has not changed. The base is wide enough that my keyboard tray lost its home and now lives on an arm!

Height range drops low enough for a sit-stand desk at its shortest and the pivot is smooth enough to use daily rather than once. Five months in the only thing that still annoys me is the menu, which needs three presses to reach the input list.

The reason to spend this much is the pixel density and nothing else, so it is worth being honest about what that actually buys you. At 6K on a 32 inch panel you can run 200 per cent scaling and get the same working area as a 3K screen, with text that looks printed rather than rendered. No fringing, no hinting artefacts, no leaning in at a code editor. Coming from a 4K panel of the same size, where 150 per cent was always a compromise, the difference is not subtle at all. The built-in camera is better than the one in my laptop and rises out of the bezel when you want it, which is a far neater answer than a clamp and a trailing cable. Colour out of the box was close, one nudge on the white point and it matched my other screen well enough for the work I do. It is 60Hz, so if you game on the same desk you will want something else beside it.
