The OSD is the quiet surprise. Dell have finally put the joystick somewhere you can reach without leaning round the back, and the input menu remembers where you left it. Small thing on a screen this size, but it is the bit you actually touch daily

Almost everything here is excellent and I want that said plainly before the complaint. The desktop space, the hub, the stand, the way the whole thing wakes off one cable, all faultless. The panel has a band of lighter grey along the bottom edge that shows up on anything letterboxed. In a bright room you will never see it. Watching something dark in the evening it is the first place my eye goes, right across the width, and at this width that is a great deal of edge to look at. Six weeks in it has neither improved nor got worse, so I assume it is simply how this one came. Four stars, and I would still choose it again.

Bought this to clear a desk that had turned into a nest of adapters, and it has done exactly that. The laptop arrives, one Thunderbolt cable goes in, and the machine charges, drives the whole panel, picks up the wired network and both external drives. No dock, no power brick, no USB hub in sight. That alone justified a good chunk of what it cost, because the dock it replaced was hardly cheap either. The panel is the other half of it. At this width you can have a document, a browser and a chat window side by side at readable sizes with nothing overlapping, and the curve is gentle enough that the far corners still face you. Text is clean at 125 per cent scaling, which is where I landed after trying both neighbours. The coating is a fine matte with no sparkle under the window behind me. Only note I would leave a buyer is to measure the desk before ordering!

Came off a pair of 27 inch panels and the missing bezel down the middle is worth more than I expected it to be, particularly with a timeline stretched across the whole width. Four months in and the hub has never dropped a drive or a keyboard. The KVM is the only part I would want more of. Two machines is fine for a laptop and a desktop, but the moment a test box lands on the desk you are back to swapping cables by hand.
