Swapped a decade-old NEC out for this and the first thing I did was measure both. The new one, untouched, came in tighter than the old one managed after a full profiling run, and that was the moment the price stopped bothering me. Uniformity is the other headline. No warm corner, no gradient across a white page, nothing that makes you tilt your head. Matte coating with a fine grain that kills the reflection from the window without turning text fuzzy. It is 60Hz and you feel that shoving windows about, but nobody buys this one to play games on!

One star is harsh on what was, for a long while, the best screen I have owned. It profiled beautifully, held its numbers between runs, and made every other panel in the office look like a toy. Then a vertical band appeared about two inches in from the right edge, brighter than everything around it and obvious on any mid grey. It has widened since. Fourteen months in and for that to happen on a screen at this price is not what I expected, and it is no use to me for the work I bought it for.

Three stars from somebody who uses it every working day, so read the complaint as a fussy one. The panel is genuinely excellent. Out of the box it was close enough that I nearly did not bother profiling it, and after a run with a proper calibrator it has held its numbers for over a year with only the smallest nudges. What grates is what you do not get. The step up has the sensor built in and does the whole job itself overnight; here you are still hunting for the puck, remembering to warm the screen up first, and blocking out twenty minutes you had not planned for. The hood is a separate purchase on top. For a screen at this money I expected the workflow, not just the glass.
